The book The Beatles Fact and Fiction 1960-1962 was presented at the last London Beatles Day on Sunday 13 March 2011. I was also pleased to offer one copy of the book to Hunter Davies, the Beatles' official biographer who also attended the convention.

Hola Eric y a todos los amigos de Beatles Perú, soy nuevo en este foro y me alegro de estar entre todos ustedes cambiando opiniones e información.
El pasado 11 de Diciembre tuve el gusto junto a mi esposa, de conocer a Eric Krasker y adquirir su libro en el Beatles Day que se llevó a cabo en Londres. Conversar con él nos sirvió en primer lugar tanto a mi esposa como a mi para conocer a una hermosa persona, y tambien para comprobar el enorme conocimiento de Eric especialmente sobre todo el período de Hamburgo de los Beatles, el cual siempre ha sido de especial interés para nosotros, como lo es para Eric.
A traves de los años me he dedicado dentro de mis posibilidades a compilar toda la bibliografía en inglés o en Alemán de Los Beatles sobre esos años (aunque no hablo alemán), y lo que les puedo decir es que a pesar de que aún no he contado con el tiempo necesario para leer el libro de Eric en Detalle, él ha hecho un trabajo excelente!!! por la abundancia de información muy detallada y acompañada de documentación siempre que ha sido posible. Lo recomiendo totalmente a todo aquél que pueda y desee informarse sobre esos años formativos de los Beatles.
a todo aquel que pueda leer un texto en inglés o frances aunque sea con la ayuda de un diccionario, le digo que bien vale!

Hola Amigos !

It was wonderful to see all these Beatle fans coming from all over the world last Sunday (4 March) at the ‘London Beatles Day’. Thank you very much all for coming. Just to remind you that the next ‘London Beatles Day’ will be held on Sunday July 29th 2012 (the very start of the Olympic Games) at the same venue (Doubletree By Hilton London West End Hotel, Southampton Row, WC1B 4BH London. Underground : Russell Square or Holborn) and I’ll be pleased to welcome you again if you happen to pass by London on that Summer day.

Moreover, in order to satisfy your many internet requests and to make things easier for those of you who might like to find the book somewhere in London during the rest of the year, I would like to inform you that I intentionally left some copies of Fact & Fiction 1960-1962 at the ‘London Beatles Store’ (231/233 Baker Street) and at ‘St John’s Wood Collectables’, 2 Violet Hill (4 minutes walking only from Abbey Road studios at St John’s Wood, NW8).

If you happen to have any difficulties in getting the book though, please send me a personal message.

Buenos dias, Amigos !

As expected, the new Mark Lewisohn’s book, All These Years – Tune In, is really refreshing and fully informative. An excellent read indeed. Amongst other things, I was pleasantly surprised to notice that not only Mark confirms the main conclusions previously developed in The Beatles Fact and Fiction 1960-1962, but he also relies on them (the book is fully credited in the end notes).

This is especially true for Polydor recordings of 1961-62 (and of course the persistent Swanee River myth = la famosa leyenda !) as well as the sacking of Pete Best : as exactly shown and proved before, his drumming abilities, which were limited, were not strong enough for the Beatles. Moreover, it is clear that the 3 other Beatles would never become close friends with him due to his shy personality and need for independence. The other theories, true or speculative, are dismissed as peripheral smokescreen.
